In December we welcomed some grandparents who spoke to the children about life long ago, on the farm, in the GAA. They also spoke about hobbies and pastimes and customs long ago.

The children learned a lot from them. As part of our  history curriculum, the rich history of the local area is explored, including Kilmaclenine, Ballyclough castle, the creamery, Ballyclough Catholic Church, the Protestant graveyard, the old school, the old barracks and the judge’s residence,  etc.
