Fun Ride in Ballyclough

The annual Duhallow Fun Ride will take place in Ballyclough on Sunday Feb. 26th. Registration takes place in Ballyclough village from 1 to 1.30. This year the proceeds of the fun ride go towards Ballyclough N.S.


Enrolments for September 2017 are being taken at present.  If you would like to see the school or if you have any queries, do not hesitate to ring 022-27857 to make an appointment.

Scor competition.

Well done to our solo singer and instrumental group who did the school proud on Friday night last at the Scor competition which was held in Ballyclough Community Centre.

10 at 10.

In connection with Operation Transformation, all classes recently took part in the “10 at 10” initiative. Every pupil in the school enjoyed 10 minutes of fun exercise with the help of an interactive video link.

Health Committee.

Our Health Committee treated all pupils to delicious Spinach soup recently, which the children really enjoyed.

Bicycles and Helmets

On Thursday Feb 16th Fiona Barry from An Taisce visited our school. She gave a very informative talk to the children on bicycle safety and checked their bicycles and helmets. Thanks to all who cycled to school on that day.


March on Mondays.

A large number of pupils walk to school from the shop on Monday mornings. Well done.

Showjumping success in Ballyrafter.

Well done to Tommy Ahern, Amy and Rachel Lucey  who represented Ballyclough N.S. in the Primary Showjumping competition held in Ballyrafter Equestrian Centre in Lismore on Sunday last. They came 3rd overall which is a great achievement. Well done and thanks to your parents for their co-operation.

Swimming Classes.

Swimming classes have been organised for pupils from 1st to 6th class. These classes will begin next week.

Food Rescue

The Parent’s Council are organising a “Food Rescue” event in Ballyclough Community Centre on April 4th. Longueville House Hotel chef William O Callaghan will work his magic to turn out  delicious curry or stew with supermarket produce destined for the bin. A viewing of a “Food Waste” documentary will also be held on teh night. Pre booking essential. Tickets will be on sale from March 1st from Ballyclough N.S. on 022-27857, and at the shop in Ballyclough.
